Wilbur Lincoln Scoville 

This man you see in the picture is the inventor of the scale that measures the level of spiciness.The Connecticut scientist created an organoleptic test to measure spiciness. In practice it is based on the sensory evaluation of a solution consisting of water, sugar and the extract of chili. The rating is then carried over to a scale called the Scoville scale.

In his life he won numerous awards and recognitions, he was passionate about science and drugs. He was awarded the Albert Award by the American Pharmaceutical Association and the Remington Honor Medal. Scoville’s invention dates back to 1912.
